'It's the most Glamourous time of the Year!'

‘Tis the season….and whether you’re getting glammed up for the office Christmas party, a festive family fiesta or the perfect mistletoe moment with your husband-to-be, one thing is certain… Christmas is the most glamorous time of the year! Here’s my ultimate Christmas beauty guide to have you feeling as radiant as the angel on top of the tree!

GLITTER Christmas and glitter go together like peas and carrots and with everything covered in twinkling lights it’s understandable that most of us like to emulate that sparkle. However, in recent years we’ve discovered the damage glitters microparticle’s are causing our oceans which is why I ONLY use Biodegradable glitter and I implore you to do the same. In Your Dreams does an incredible range of Biodegradable and Cruelty Free Glitters… the Rose Gold Rush with red and gold, the Golden Mirage and the Aqua Tip with it’s gorgeous aqua jewelled tones all scream Christmas! Mixing the tree together is about as festive as you can get; and with the added bonus of guilt-free sparkle… it’s Christmas come early! Apply a little vaseline to cheekbones, eyelids or wherever you wish and add the glitter over to hold in place.

THAT IS GOLD, GLITTERS! We are not all Christmas fairies, but luckily there’s such an array of amazing golden highlighters on the market you don’t need glitter to get that glow girl! My personal favourite is the I Heart Make Up Goddess of Love Highlighter, with it’s gorgeous champagne hues. Apply to cheekbones and lids for an intense glow!

RED LIPS Red lips are about as festive as Christmas make up can get! Experiment with different shades to find the best red to suit your skin tone… but my personal favourite is Ruby Woo by MAC. Depending on your desired effect, you can choose to go with a mat or gloss finish. Whichever you choose be sure to exfoliate your lips and then apply a lip balm or primer for a flawless finish and longevity. I always use a lip liner, particularly with such a bold colour as you want to keep your lip line from bleeding and to ensure that you will have a Christmas party pout so perfect, you won’t be able to stop yourself belting out Santa Baby!

PARTY HAIR The only downside to this magical time of year is often not so magical weather! That’s why I think it’s a good idea to go with an updo and not let the wind and rain wreak havock with your party locks before you even get in the door of the do! Turn a stylish chignon or a waterfall braid into a festive up do by finishing with gorgeous bejewelled hair clips or even a gem or pearl headband. You could even go down the novelty Christmas headband route depending on the kind of xmas party…. camp it up this christmas!

ENJOY! Let’s be honest… I’m sure you are so excited for your wedding that you’re probably already on a diet and fitness plan, but Christmas is the one time of the year when we can indulge a bit. Enjoy yourself, have a few drinks, have your xmas cake and eat it! Just remember to continue to exercise self-love even if your exercise regime goes out the tinsel trimmed window! Get lots of rest inbetween gatherings, drink lots of water to compensate the effects of the dehydrating alcohol on your skin… and get on that dancefloor to beat the bloat! Dancing is the best a great way to still exercise whilst you’re celebrating! Enjoy spending time with your family and loved ones, but don’t forget to treat and love yourself in equal measures too! HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS! K x
