LOVE IS IN THE AIR! You can absolutely feel it as February rolls in bringing Valentine’s Day and lots of red and pink everything with it with love hearts on top!
But this isn’t any old Valentine’s Day, this is your last one before you are married to your Valentine! Being engaged is such a special time, so be sure to do something super romantic with your husband-to-be and celebrate this milestone and your upcoming Ibiza wedding.
The build up to your wedding is such an exciting, but sometimes pretty intense time. Be sure to take some time away from all the planning and family logistics that have to be considered during the run up and really focus on what getting married is all about…. Your love for one another!
That said, on the other side of the (heart shaped, chocolate) coin… this is your last Valentine’s as a non married woman! Perhaps this calls for a night out on the town with girls? Or to coin the phrase ‘Galentines night!’ Whether you’re in the mood for love or a night on the town, here are some gorgeous valentine inspired makeup and wellbeing ideas for the most romantic night of the year. Cupid’s wings
Nothing screams sexy, alluring and fun quite like winged eyeliner. That sultry little flick at the corner transforming your eyes into coquettish, come-to-bed eyes. My favourite product for achieving the famous Bridget Bardot flick is MAC’s Liquid Eyeliner in Boot Black. It has a really sturdy nib and I just find it glides perfectly and is really easy to use, leaving you with such sexy cat eyes you might not even get out of the door for Valentine’s date night...MEOW!
Pretty in pink I love a rosy glow on the cheeks; so cheeky and cherub-esque… the ultimate in flirtatious make up. Use a lovely cream blush on the apples of your cheeks for a lush, soft finish like the naughtily named Orgasm by Nars. Next thing you know you’ll be cheek to chic! OH YES!
Pucker Up
Pout perfection is quintessential Valentine’s make up! But rather than the striking festive Ruby Woo as recommended in my Christmas make up blog (insert link) I think a more rosy red with a romantic pinky hue is more season appropriate… plus will tie in perfectly with those orgasmic cheeks! Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade ‘Lovebite’ just couldn’t be any more fitting.
Scent-sual
Fragrances are a very personal thing; we all have our own unique scent and therefore different perfumes react with our skin in different ways. In short, no one single perfume ‘suits’ everyone. That said, there are certain fragrances that are indisputably romantic and provocative. My favourite Valentine’s fragrance is Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier and I love the legs on the bottle, so JPG! Perhaps you could ask for it as a Valentine’s gift from your husband-to-be?
Self Love As the wise prophet Ru Paul always says ‘If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an Amen!’ I wholeheartedly agree with this. Send yourself love first this Valentine’s day and everyday, whatever that looks like for you. Take some time out to go for a walk or a run to clear your head and come back to your body, or do some yoga, use a luxury bath bomb (preferable heart shaped) or maybe you just need an early night. Whatever it is your heart desires, be sure to give yourself the gift of self love for Valentine’s Day Bride-to be! AMEN!
